I'm in Dallas for three weeks for work and I was wondering if anyone can tell me where to go fishing? I'm looking for a place for Bass or Catfish. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

lake ray roberts just up the road, lewisville (aka the dead sea) would be my last choice BTW, lake fork 70 mile to the east (quitman), richland-chambers to the south of dallas, not sure what part of the country you call home, but i assure you, you are in a hot-spot for bass fishing, i'm sure there are others i'm forgetting, check out a local tackle store, a guide trip on fork, ray roberts, or richland chambers will be a good memory, if your not into the guide thing, you could rent a boat, fork, roberts, and richland have standing timber though, and some of it is standing just below the surface[:-]

m.t.hands is right, lots of fishing around this area, though
some of the lakes are VERY low due to the drought.
Ray Roberts is one of the least affected, only a couple
of feet low. Lake Lewisville and Grapevine lake both have
pretty good bank fishing access. If you're on limited time,
don't rule out fishing White RockLake very near downtown Dallas.
I've heard it's good and know for a fact BASS had a tournement
there a few years ago, lots of fish caught. Most of the park and
community lakes/ponds have fish in good numbers, just pull
over and give'em a try.

Let me know what part of Dallas you're in, I might be able to
help more depending on the area you want to fish.
