yesterday wasnt good for me either. 35 mph winds, whitecapping on the lake. fished 6 am - noonish and gave up.. caught 15 or so, but nothing large. i couldnt fish any post spawn areas due to the wind.

Chuck, it sounds like your bass are spawned out. you may want to back off a few hundred feet from the beds and fish the first drop off. Points are also a good idea, as is flipping trees and the thickest grass you can find.

You may have a point there. After flipping about 300 yds I realized that. I found fish suspended in 12' of water around structure. Problem is when they don't bite your not sure if they are crappie , nile perch or bass. I carolined a worm.,chucked Rooster Tails and Rattle Traps though to no advail. My son was cranking with a diving tiger Norman style lure. It won't belong though. I generally get a few hundred bass a year. When they get turned on I'll be ready. We have 12 lakes at this particuliar management area. Now I know why I ws the only boat at Hydrilla Lake. They post the top 3 lakes but I ignored that. They were Lake B , Lake 2 and Lake 4
They have a nice 12 pounder mounted whereyoucheck in at. All of these lakes are catch and release so I should be catching some decent fish. I have one secret spot at Lake 5 and there is where I should of gone.

I get 18 days off from school after next Monday. I'll be either chasing gobblers or hawg fishing,
C y aJosh,
Chuck
