RE: bait for grass carp
best bait i have found is to collect the grass clippings from when your done moeing. put maybe 10 or 12 blades of on a 3/0 hook and throw it in the water and either c-rig it or t-rig it with no weight.
no i wouldn't have a clue what is best? maybe nightcrawers??

Coton seed cake This is made in to cubes with a hole in the middle.Put a string though the hole than tie your hook to that.Let it hang just under the water.
You can allso take moss and use it. You put the string though the eye of the hook than tie your knot to the shank of the hook. Get your moss pull extra line though the eye of your hook and put the moss though the loop you made. This works good in all water. I have cought most typs of fish on moss. even some nice walleye.

Corn and nightcrawlers work the best, corn being the better of the two, on a #2 Gamakatsu Aberdeen hook i suppose, maybe smaller. get it on or near hte bottom.
I snagged a 5 lb catfish the other day on a crankbait in the tail. Nice channel cat, fought hard.

Deer they are talking grass carp. They are not like normal carp. You will very seldom every get one on worms. Corn may work though. just have never seen it used for grass carp just the normal old carp.
