3 OR 4 OR 5 blade prop
#1

I have a 25' pontoon boat. 88HP Johnson. I can get a good speed up around 18MPH when the boat is basically empty. I can't get up past 8MPH with a tube on. Currently running a 13 X 13 3 blade prop. Would I gain anything by changing pitch or number of blades? Thanks in advance.

What RPM are you getting with that 13 pitch....Remember the higher the pitch the lower the RPM's...For every pitch you go up you lose around 400 rpm's and if you go down in pitch you gain about 400 rpm's.I think youwould want a 11 or 10 pitch,we put 9 pitch on our big foots 40-60 hp.
see what rpm's you should be running with that motor.....and as far as diamiter goes,as long as you dont hit the anoid or casing your good there.
If I remember I will ask a tech at work tomorrow and see what they say...

There is a 13-3/4 x 11 for that in the SST line,That will give you better
pulling but less top end.Do you have a tack ?
The OMC part # is 0389792.......
your rpm's will go up about 400...
