what is your favorite caliber of all time

There are to many out they to really have a favorite. If I had to pick one for Whitetails the 270 Win would be my choice.I hunt with other calibers but always seem to come back to the 270.It performs well and does the job.I'm going to try a new 7mm08 this year. That might give the 270 a run for it's money.I doubt it though.

280 Rem. but the rifle has a lot to do with it. M700 Stainless Synthetic Mountain Rifle with a Luepold Vari X 3-2.5-8. The trigger has been reworked, the bolt lugs squared up, the muzzle recrowned, and the action is pillar bedded. Shoots 1/2" 3 shot groups at 100 yds. with my handloads.

Is there really all that much difference between a .270 win and a .280 rem? I can't see it and a deer can't tell. My vote, one of the above for medium game, even though I'm using a 6.5x55 and a 7.62x54r right now. For my hammer it's a toss up between 9.3x62 and a 45/70. Boy I'm really confused.

Favorite cartridge? I would have to say its almost a tie between the 7RemMag and the 30/06. But if I had to only choose one (a TERRIBLE thought I might add... [:'(] ) I would pick the mighty 7.
Most sentimental cartridge? Would have to be the 30/06 just because of the historical legacy and heritage it has both in military and civilian life and how well it does most anything thats practical in the hunting world. I suppose because my first rifle was a 30/06 I have a "softspot" for the ol' warhorse.
Most revered cartridge? The 300 Weatherby Magnum. Probably because it was the "Lamborghini" of cartridges while I was growing up and was surrounded by as much myth and legend as reality, non the less its a very capable cartridge with todays powders and super bullets.
That was a good and fun question,
