What gun do you REALLY love?

Bar none - when it comes to crunch time - I reach for my old (25+ yrs) Remington 700 .270. This old girl never let me down. Its taken whitetails, black bear, antleope and mulies at ranges from 25 yds out to 400+. Only twice did I ever need to take a second finishing shot. I shoot 130 gr Nosler ballistic tips over 55 grs of IMR4350.

Sig Sauer 226. Bought that pistol when I was 21. Sold it to a friend at an economic low point about 10 years later. He sold it back to me about 2 years after that. When it's in my hand, it IS my hand. I'll probably retire it before too long for something more concealable.
Got a Sheridan Pellet rifle my dad gave me for Christmaswhen I was about 13 years old. Killed many squirrel, birds, racoon, etc with it. My oldest boy shoots it now and I shot it a couple times yesterday. It's beat up but still makes for some great target shooting fun in the back yard.
Brother gave me a Portugese G3 this Christmas. That thing is a shooter. 100 yards, open sites and it's printing a 3 inch group. I might actually take that thing hunting.

My Marlin lever action guns. I have 3 of them now and they all shoot great. I wish Marlin would make a centerfire bolt action rifle. My Marlin .22 bolt action will drive tacks.

Hands down my .243. My dad bought it used when I was 7 years old. I shot it and the scope hit me in my head and made me bleed. I was afraid to shoot it for a whole year. The next year we were driving down a sendero in Laredo when we saw a doe and a yearling about 500 yards down the road. We walked into the brush and kept looking out in the road to see if they were still there. Eventually, we walked out of the brush at about 25-30 yards. Unbelievably, the deer stayed there. My dad told me to rest the gun on his shoulder. One shot right in the neck that old doe dropped in her tracks. I've shot every deer with that gun except one I believe. Greatest gun I've owned. One year my dad dropped it when we were getting out of the blind messed up the scope really bad. The scope stuck on 3x power. I shot an 8-point with that gun and scope on 3x power at 220 yards. Dropped right where I hit him. Probably, the best shot I've ever made. Like I said my favorite gun.

My grandfathers Winchester model 12 ......Still looks brand spanking new and it make people drool whenever I'm hunting or at the range. Have at least 4 guys try to buy it from me every year. Second , my dads belgium Mauser.
