Default mounting scope/rings problem

I just put a Bushnell Trophy 1.75x4x32 scope on my Ithaca Mod 37 Turkeyslayer and when I look thru the scope I can see the front bead/barrel in the lower half of the scope. Can't have that becasue I won't be able to see the entire bird. I put Millet 1" medium height rings on a Weaver 62 base. Are the rings to low? Do I need to go to the higher rings?

That's just something that you are going to have to live with. Most all scopes under 3 power will have this happen. It is because the field of view is so wide at the lowest setting that it picks up the front of your barrel. Going to the next highest ring will not help you any at all. The only remedy is to go with a higher power scope, or find a different scope that has a narrower field of view, or something like a red dot scope.
