I agree with oldelkhunter that you don't need a scope with a huge objective lens. That's why I suggested the Conquest. I just think it's just about perfect in every respect including low light performance, weight, size, eye relief, etc...

Tex, have you considered the Nikon Monarch gold 1.5-6x42mm. I bought one in January of this year. I haven’t used it yet but did compare it at home with my Leupold 3-9 x 50mm European and the Nikon with the 42mm odj. lens was much brighter. I was surprised on the difference. They both have the 30mm main tube and as mentioned the Nikon is just as heavy as the Leupold. The Nikon has 4.1” of eye relief and should be enough for your Weatherby. Good luck ....
