Hello, i just purchased a Weatheryby Vanguard chambered in 7mm remington mag. This is my first gun, and i hope to use it for many years to come. so....i want a really good scope that gonna last me and that very high quality. of course, some people say, just go w/ leupold and nikon and nothin is gonna go wrong. but i was on opticsplanet.net and i saw some optronics scopes which they said were pretty good.

now im looking at spending around $100 bucks but i will spend $150 for a good one. i know this isn't very much, thats why i was attracted to the optronics for under $100 bucks. the warranty was also very appealing. i was just wondering what your thoughts are on a good scope. redfield? im kinda confused with all these new rifle brands and every thing-ya know im thinking, surely there has to be something better from japan or something-....LOL!!!! thanks

Swift 3-9x40 or 4-12x40
I have both, and they take a beating and can be had for 100-150.
I know nothing about the scope you linked to. Never seen thru one, or know anyone that has one.

i second the Swift. i have a Swift 4-12x50mm on my Weatherby .300 Mag. it was on the rifle when i bought it and has been good glass for me. if i was going to replace it or buy another scope it would be another Pentax Lightseeker (i have one of these on my T/C Pro Hunter) but these are a little more pricey.

I just put a Leupold VXI 4-2x40 on the Vanguard my wife bought me for Xmas, it was $279.00 but that's a good deal for the kind of quality you get. My Leupold makes a few of my Bushnell's and Tasco's really look bad (literally) when you look through them in a side by side comparison. Good luck with your Vanguard, I'm going to the range with my new one tomorrow, it's a 257 Wthy Mag.
