I am looking to buy a slug gun for deer hunting in Pa. Can anybody give some insight on this. I'm looking for a 12ga. Comments on different manufactures with likes and dislikes is really needed. Do people use scopes on these? Best or favorite ammo. This is some thing new to me and i would like to start getting into this.

I would look into gettin the Marlin 512, it is a bolt action shotgun that shoots slugs extremely well. Since you live in Lansdale, why don't you check out Guns and Archery Outfitters in Montgomeryville they usually have some used shotguns and sometimes some Marlins for decent prices, they can really help you out.

H&R slug gun all the way ......if you looking for a shotgun exclusively for deer than this is the gun. In NJ if you hunt with slugs you must have a scope on your gun. I can easliy reach out to 150yds ....have used about 4 diff brands of slugs in it , and lightfields work the best.

You know I got a browning gold slug gun. And its very accurate. But I made up my mind, I don't need a auto sluggun, but need a auto duck gun. Should have just picked up a 870 cant. barrel for my 870 express. And got me a browning gold shotgun. Been cheaper and made more sense.
