There are alternatives to bolt actions. I'm a dyed in the wool bolt man that has come to appreciate a couple of other rifles also. I hunt here in Maine with a Rem. 7600. Good accurate rifle that shoots just about anything I feed it. Much more reliable than a semi. Nothing will ever truly replace my bolts but the 7600 comes pretty close.

I also hunted this year with a Ruger #1 that I like very much.
