I love my Tikka T3 in 243. Very accurate and lightweight. It's got some plastic where more expensive rifles have metal, but overall it's a great rifle. I would recommend it.

Are all Tikkas "lite"? I was looking online and it seems all were under 7 pounds.

That may be true Murdy but the T3 comes in several different "sub-models" such as Hunter, Sporter, Varmint, and Lite.
I wouldn't guess the varmint was under 7 lb.

Sign of the times. I was looking at in-stock stuff only on some of the online retailers. When I looked at out-of-stock items, the Varmint and Tactical showed up, both 8 pounds.

I have a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless in 270WSM and absolutely love it. I have yet to find a load that it doesn't like and it shot well under 1 MOA with factory Nosler Custom ammo right out of the box! The trigger is easily adjustable and breaks like glass, the bolt is butter smooth and it accurate! It's my primary whitetail gun and one of the best rifles for the money in my safe.

I took my T3 to the range prior to going bear hunting and fired 5 shots off the bench. All hit center bull and I could cove them with a quarter. (could have been a nickel but the last one missed the ragged hole that the other 4 were in leaving 1/4 of paper between them). BTW mine is an 30-06
