New carry pistol

This holster was made by a friend of mine. I love it and it is very practicable! Every other one that I have seen that was like it doesn't have the mag holster in it.

Is it a Ruger thing or do many people just not care for the LCP? I bought mine as a t-shirt n shorts weather carry as Bronko stated and have had no issues at all with it as a carry piece.
It even comes up missing once in awhile only to find out my wife has grabbed it, (She is former LEO) and has it for a girls night out and she is always the DD (Ditzy Doozy!!) of the bunch. She wears it out shooting it in the backyard and has had no malfunctions, as of yet, nor I.

And rafsob, as others said here, I would be greatly interested in the dimensions of that holster as you said. I as well carry it mostly in my back pocket, have alot of area to conceal it!!!!! And mag in other back pocket next to my wallet/badge.

The .380 is not going to replace a .45 but it is still a very good round. When I need to carry something very concealable, I carry a Walther PPK/S. I have one of the older ones distributed by Interarms. It's very accurate out to 15 yards, functions well and fits in a front pocket of dress slacks without printing too much. The round would definitely get somebody's attention if hit and even if it's a miss, your attacker(s) would now know you're armed and the game has elevated with more potential danger for them.
FWIW, I think you're on the right track in getting something you can still wear with lighter clothing. A CCW gun in 380 is infinitely superior to not being able to carry something because it's too bulky for lighter clothing.
People sometimes worry about the effectiveness of a .380 in a gunfight but let's face it. If you're in a gunfight with any pistol and are by yourself, you're looking to stop the attacker(s) from killing you and are (at least should be) looking to move back away from them and find something solid to block bullets.
Besides, gunfights can get you hurt and/or killed. If you must participate in one, you want to bring lots of friends with bigger guns.

As for 308s, they have greatly improved. I would not hesitate to carry a 380 with +p rounds.

Burnie, you may want to check out the Glock 30 SF (Slim Frame). It holds 10 rounds of .45 in the magazine and is considered a "compact" pistol. I've carried one in a paddle holster for a few years now and it's a nice size pistol.

For the pocket, I don't think anything can compare with a S&W 340PD. Scandium/Titanium "J" frame. Light as a feather ( truly! ). Five rounds .357 magnum! You don't even feel it in the pocket, fully loaded. Internal hammer - nothing to snag. Doesn't print much because of the light weight. I think a pistol "printing" has more to do with the heft of the gun than the bulk. And if you have to shoot..... well, .357 are pretty awesome numbers.
