I am a huge fan of the -08 as well even though i shoot a .280. My wife shoots the 7mm-08 with 140 gr silvertips. Deadly combo. Has yet to fail her and the furthest shot for her was 270 yds. Heavy damage to the animal with little felt recoil.

7mm-08

I took a slickhead at 175 yds. Dropped where it was standing. The round I was using was federal fusion 140 gr.

I seen the front shoulder of a buck hit with a 7-08 coupled with nosler 140 gr. BTs. They don't go very far when hit with that combo, usally straight down.

That's a great rig!

I never get any massive damage with my 7-08... but I do always get a deer that goes 30 yards or less and crashes with a nice blood trail.

I used Prvi Partizan ammo of all things this year just because it grouped so good in both 7-08's and the fact it was on sale at Midway for like 13 or 14 bucks a box and I just wanted the brass and some plinking ammo. The stuff grouped better than anything factory I have tried so far and performed very similarly to coke lokt ammo on the deer.

Shot 2 does with it and have no complaints. Aimed to take out both front shoulders on the first one just to see how the bullet would do. Pretty impressed with that stuff for the price!

I've killed many, many, deer with the 7mm-08. It is an awesome deer cartridge that will never let you down when you do you part!
