Of the guns listed I would pick the M7 hands down. When I hunt conditions like that I carry an old Mod 760 in the sleeper 300 Savage chambering.

All of those guns you listed are not neccesary for whitetail deer sized game at 150 yards or less, in the areas you are talking. ( thick, wooded, mountainous terrain in upstate new york) Of the choices given I would choose the .308 made by savage.
If I had my own choice for 150 yds. or less and 50-70 yds being the average, I would opt for 30-30, 45-70, 250 savage, or a nice Remington 7400/742..ect chambered in some mild cartridge such as 7-30 waters or . 257 Roberts, ( if I could find one) But to be cost effective and have avalibility of ammo at my disposal, I would choose the 30-30 hands down. Relatively cheap to shoot, and availibility of ammo is usually good.

I have 2 Savage guns in .308, Model 10 FP and Model 10 Precision Carbine. I'll take the carbine for what you are describing.

If I could only have one rifle I would have a TC Encore. Then I could have several barrels.

Of the ones listed definitly the M7 in 7mm-08. If it were me though it would be my Marlin 336 BL in 30-30 with leupold VX3 1.5-5x20mm.

Remington 700 in .30-06. That's what I bought 26 years ago. Still killing game with it. Got two deer with it this year.
