Default 30.06 Remington 798 (mauser action)

Not sure if anyone has wrote about the Remington Model 798 with the Mauser Action. They are new for 2008. I bought one last year and really like it.

Sorry RR, look at the date on the link, it's 9/14/2006, Remington's website does not list the 798 or 799 as being available anymore. With the new management they decided to play the Made In America theme.

I wonder who will pick them up now that Remington no longer imports them? From all reports they are a great modern Mauser clone made in the Czech Republic if I recall.

I don't know how you get to them on their web site but we just received some in our store about a month ago.

Maybe they were close outs from 2008??????

DR, they're made in Serbia.

at the present moment, no one is importing the zastava. however, one will soon be able to by the zastava actions from midway. check the midway site and you'll see they are "coming soon". that action, smoothed up and matched to a decent barrel and stock, would make a fine rifle.
