Default 200 Savage

I bought one last year in 30-06 and took a three point buck with it the first day of deer season. Great rifle for the price.

I bought one in a 243 for my nephew. It is more than adequate for hunting.. The trigger is a little heavy but it shot well.

I got the Camo stock one. It was like 30 dollars more, that way I dont have to look at that ugly grayish stock. It came scoped and everything for 334.00 plus shippin...

It's a no frills workhorse of a rifle, the 25-06 will do whatever is asked of it within reason. An excellent deer/antelope cartridge, bit of overkill for varmint and with the right ammo selection will work for larger game like elk/moose but would not be my first choice. That being said a rifle is like a golf club, you just got to have the right tool for the job.

My neighbor has one in 270 and it shoots pretty darned nice for a cheaper rifle. Even with the cheap blazer scope that it came with.

I bought a Stevens Mod 200(.243) when they first came out. Great rifle. I have taken four deer with it, all between 300 and 400yds...one shot kills. I now use it to hunt everything from bunnies, yotes, and up to deer sized game. You can adjust the trigger if you are knowledgable.
