Im planning on purchasin a marlin 982vs-cf and was looking for some input on a good illuminated scope for it.

I put one of these on each of my bolt action rifles

I have tried the illuminated scope on a couple of different guns that a buddy has. I didn't care for either one. It didn't help me see the deer any better and the illuminated crosshairs where just a distraction to me until they where turned down to nearly nothing. It just seems like a gimmick to me, at least on his scopes it did.
