30-06 Question

30-06 is an excellent choice. You can pick up some really cheap ammo for practice and planking, then get some really good ammo (TSX, GMX, or E-Tip) for hunting. Yah, I'm a lead-free freak.

Default 30/06

I too live in NE Florida and I use a Remington 7600 to shoot hogs with. So far I've taken 4 hogs with it and it's worked very well on all of them. I've used 150 and 165 gr bullets. And ditto on ammo availability. But if budget were an issue and all I could afford is a 30/30 I'd used that too , well actually I do. Folks can say what they want but I have 7 big Maine deer that will attest to the effectivness of a 30/30.
