100% the 20ga can take down deer as quickly as the 12ga, without the recoil, I love my H&R in 20ga

I agree....the 20 is sufficient.....and for upland birds it's also the gauge I choose

As I understand it H&R uses the same barrel for both.As such the 20 will be a little heavier but that will help reduce recoil even more.It will also add stiffness for better accuracy.

Most places have them for around 250 with the laminated stock which would be my choice.Good luck!
