A Sterling .44 mag, single shot hunting pistol. I picked one up at a local shop but noone knows anything about it. It has wooden fitted finger grips and a grip on the barrel, it' s only about a 8" barrel in the shape of an octagon. No where on the internet or in gun trader mags can I find any info. I checked with Sterling in Gasport, NY. But the phone number seems to be non-existent. If any of you can give me some backround or a good place to start that would be great.

Hey BighornElk,
I don' t know anything about it, but I did look it up on GunBroker.com and found one that seems like your talking about, this one for sale was a .22 cal for $339 and it didn' t look in all that great of shape either. It was called a Sterling Arms X-Caliber. Looked for some stuff on the net too and came up with nothing either. Sorry I' m not much help

Hey Jorgy,
Thanks for taking the time to look around. In case your interested, I' ve been calling around to local dealers and the general concensus is that it is a low end gun, inexpensive, and cheaply made. I hope nobody else falls prey to a slick talking pawn shop dealer. Stay cool Bro!
