I use a NEF pardner pump slug. But that is do to price reasons. the best slug guns out there are the remingtons.

I OWN A ITHICA 37 DSL20 GA. IT HAS A FIX BARREL AND IT SHOOTS LIGTH FIELD SLUGS OUT TO 150 YDS.. I HANDED DOWN A OLD ITHICA 51 SMOOTH BORE TO MY SON AND IT SHOOTS BRENIKIES GREAT AT 75 OR BETTER. IF YOU CAN FIND A 37 DSL BUY IT OR TELL ME AND I WILL BUY FOR THE KID. GOOD LUCK

I wanted to thank everyone for their input . I've looked and I am considering an Ithaca Deerslayer 3. I would love to get more info on 20 ga.versus 12 ga. and everyone's thoughts on the best slugs for either gauge.

I shoot a winchester 1300 in 20ga fully rifled with red dot an 12ga fully rifled with Elite 3200 3-9x40. The Ithica deel slayer is an accurate free floated barrel all one piece also the bolt action like mossburg 695, savage210 I have found to be very accurate if you have $$ and can find a browning A-bolt that's a real nice shooter. My 20ga can do everything my 12ga can do with less recoil an KE. But all it takes is a well placed shot. I hunt with friends with auto's an they tend to rush shots or get trigger happy,buck fever.
