700XCR; My Remington 700XCR is a .30-06. I really like it. It shoots clover leaf groups with of the shelf ammo.

I put one on my 7mm Rem Mag before I ever shot it. It makes a lot of noise but doesn't seem to have much recoil IMO.

I've seen a few commercials for some other pads that say they are even better but the limbsaver was a direct screw on my Browning A-bolt and works great.

I have one on my Winchester 1300, one on my Mossberg 835 and I have one on the way for my Remington 870. They really work, buy one and your shoulder will thank you.

Totally agree with Yellowhammer! When I got my new slug gun, that was part of the deal - had to put a Limbsaver on it! It's amazing how much recoil one of those pads can absorb.

Yellowhammer,

Did it change the length of pull at all on you 835? I've come to the conclusion that the LOP on my 835 is a little long for me and would like to reduce it a smidge and thought this might be a simple way. The existing pad is pretty thick>

I also have two, both on Encores. They work great and I would/will buy more. However, I do have one critism. They are fairly stick and somewhat pointy shaped at the heel of the pad. This makes it grabby going up to the shoulder when pulling the gun up while hunting. I see that Limbsaver is now making a variation where the heel has been reshaped to improve on this.

Limbsaver makes a grind-to-fit pad. So if your LOP is too long you could have a gunsmith cut the stock down a little bit to fit you and then install and fit the Limbsaver. to the shortened stock. Excessive LOP is a common problem with American-made stocks. I'm a tall guy (6'4"), and I've had stocks that are too long for me.

As far as the effectiveness of the Limbsaver...it's the only recoil pad that I'll put on my rifles if they need it. I just recently put one on my Savage 111 30-06 and it's like night and day. Before I installed the Limbsaver the cumulative effect of recoil after a box of ammo would leave me sore. The Limbsaver made felt recoil feel about half of the stock buttplate.

Mike
