I have killed 4 deer and 4 hogs with LeverEvs in my 30-30's, and my son has killed 1 hog and 1 deer with them too. The bullets have performed perfectly every time, but the shooter still has to do his part.

I will admit that there is more internal damage with LeverEvs than the 150 gr round nose bullets that I had been shooting, but the game doesn't ever go far, if anywhere.

I'm impressed by this new LE ammo. Last year my hunting pardner took an 8 pt. at around 158 yds. with this ammo. Thanksgiving morning I took a big six point with this same ammo at around 188 yards and both were dropped their tracks. They both had nice clean wound channels with very little loss of meat. Hornady has now come out with .44 mag and .357 mag ammo in LE. Can't wait to try the .44 mag.

The hole itself really doesn't appear all that big in the picture. Appearances can and often are deceiving of course. The overall wound itself certainly looks impressive... but honestly to me that reminds me much of some of the high neck shots we would take on deer when culling with 204s... only there is more of the blood clot jelly with the 204. It almost looks like that bullet cratored a bit. As liquidorange wrote... that bullet might have deflected a bit before hitting the deer. If thats an entrance hole... something ain't quite right.

The leverevolution stuff is quite good. I've shot a bit myself. Wish they'd let me reload it in my 3030 A.I. Wow that would be a shooter....

I love this new ammo from Hornady. I shot three deer with it last year and it did a great jobif I did mine. Dropped a 175# 8 point in his tracks at 100 yards.
