On a budget. The remington 700adl with laminated stock in 30-06, or the walmart weatherby (howa) with wooden stock in 300 weatherby magnum?
The remington is $430.00 and the "weatherby" is $470.00.
I like the remington's feel, and the open sights. But the weatherby has better customer service if anything goes wrong with it.
Which one would you choose for a hunting gun?

Take a close look at the barrel length on that Weatherby Vanguard. It is, I think, a 22 inch tube. This is too short for the 300
Weatherby. You loose velocity and get more muzzle blast. If I had to chose between two 30.06's I would go with the Weatherby (Howa) because that is one slick action.

If they were my only choices it would be the Remington 30-06 . But wouldn't choose either one if I was looking for a rifle . What are you going to be hunting with it ?
