I've fired a couple of these;they were accurate as well. Don't under estimate the Mossberg ATR; they're good rifles, especially considering their price!

Enjoy your new rifle!

Man, do I feel better about buying this gun today! I had never owned a mossberg but it came down to the 100 atr or a remington 700. The rem was about $500 and the atr was $229. I have owned a remington before and liked it a lot but I am on a budget. Anyway, I am glad to hear that this is a good gun.

Be sure and let us know what you think of it once you've had a chance to shoot your new rifle. I've read a lot of good things from actual owners, and hope that someday they'll make a left-handed version.

I have a old Mossberg I bought several years ago when I broke my arm and couldn't shoot my other rifle with one arm. It is amazing how well it shoots and it seems to be very well made. We sighted it in the other day when we put a new scope on it and it outshoot a lot of the other more expensive guns we have.

I went with a buddy today to sight in his new100 atr in 270 and all I can say is WOW.what a accurate rifle. He's got $300 in the thing and it shoots awesome. With his $50 tasco and factory remington shells it shot a 4 shot group at 100yds that you could cover with a nickel. It cut all 4 bullet holes in half. That was dam good for a $248.00 walmart special.

I read a review in one of the shooting magazines about the 4X4. I remember that the finish is a better quality and the stock is some sort of skelatized plastic (it also comes in laminate and walnut, I believe). I'll try and find the article tonight at home and let you know.

I looked in the Shooting Times that described the 4X4 last night, and beside the fit and finish, it never really said why you should pay a MSRP of $481 for what is basically a $250 ATR with a different stock and marincote finish.
