Gents-
Took my new Savage plain jane model with accu-trigger out for it's first range session today. I'm impressed with this gun and round.
I did nothing to the gun. It's as is from the factory and its the Simmons 3x9x32 that came with the package.
Check this 100 yard target out with 5 shots using Hornadys 20 grain HP.

Good group. I bought one of the early ones and it just won't group. I've tried all of the available ammo and still no group. I'll be selling or trading this one and I'm gonna try one more time. This rifle must have been built Monday Morning after the Super Bowl or something.

Thanks, Guys
A few shots at 25 yds to fine tune the boresighting and went straight on to 100 yds.
A few clicks up and I was on!
Hope you have luck with the second purchase/trade of your 17HMR Savage. It really bites when you buy a gun and it won't shoot for beans.
I've had a few of them and dumped them off ASAP.
My rule is: 1" or less at 100 yds with handloads and proper trigger.
1 1/2" with factory ammo.
If I can't get that, off she goes to the consignment rack!
