Default Bergara Barrels for Encore

Do any of you guys have one or have any info on these barrels. Grafs.com have the stainless versions for some popular rifle and M\L calibers shipped for 195$ less then that for the blued versions. After calling CVA and finding out these are made in Spain and that they've had good feedback so far, I made the leap and ordered one. Of course I doubt they would have told me if they sucked.

I haven't been overwhelmed with accuracy from the T\C factory stuff and dont want put the big bucks out for the Bullberry stuff, just wanted to know if anyone had any first hand experience with these yet.

Specially designed by Ed Shilen of Shilen Barrels, this Bergara barrel is a replacement for the Thompson Center Encore and is designed for extreme accuracy. Features standard taper for factory appearance, diamond honed and air gauged for high quality construction. Some fitting may be required

Its not the loads. They are plenty accurate, don't get me wrong but for a single shot rifle the T\C factory stuff could be improved on.
I have found loads to get the few barrels I have to shoot great but had to work at it more thena coupleof my bolt actions that seem to shoot just about everything very well.(1" or better @ 100)

so far i have no complaints with mine. i'm shooting a .25-06 at 100 yards and keeping 1" 3 shot groups. this is also without using a lead sled, shooting vice or anything else.

"Some fitting may be required", that part makes me a little nervous. If it's a company producing good quality parts for the Encore, why would their products need fitting for you to use it?

Please give us a review of your purchase after you have had time to properly assess it.

Thanks,
J

I asked the guy at CVA and he said they are complete drop ins and that there was no fitting to be done, he said that he wasnt sure why it said that in the paragraph I posted. We will see and I'll post reviews asap.
