Default Remington 11-87 Supermag?

I have found a guy selling an 11-87 SPS Supermag (composite) for $400. The gun is 5 or 6 years old and supposedly very clean. I have been told that the Supermags have a problem cycling 2 3/4 shells. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have done some research and found out that there is a barrel seal activator that has to be engaged to shoout 2 3/4. I have been duck and turkey hunting with an 870 that shoots 3 inch for years and dove/upland hunting with a Beretta 682 O/U. I am mostly interested in buying the 11-87 to have something that shoots 3 1/2 for goose and turkey but would like to have the versatility to use it for dove. Should I just bite the bullet and buy a Binelli or a Beretta? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I have an 1187 SPS supermag 3 1/2" Remington. I never use the 3 1/2" for turkey. If you can afford a Berretta or Bennelli they are a superior firearm no two ways about it.
