Default Looking for a bench rest

[align=left] Hey Guys,
I have always shot from sand bags. I am kinda tired of using them and would like to get a nice clamp down vice style rest. I have looked around and it's really hard to tell how good the quality is. I would like to even be able to shoot my shotguns off it clamped down without a problem. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I was recently looking for one myself so that I could clamp my guns down and sight them in easier. Couldn't find one that I like so I made one. It isn't pretty, but I think it will work. Just finished the final touches today, so I won't know how well it will work until this weekend. If it will hold my .50 Cal down, I'll say it is good.

Why do you want a clamp style rest instead of a good tripod front rest (Caldwell BR for example)and rear bunny ear bag? My way of thinking is that I don't hunt with my guns clamped in a vise, so why would I want to shoot them that way from a bench. Seems to me the point of impact would be different. Just a thought.

Check this out www.targetshooting.com

The owner is Wally Brownlee. A very nice person. Products are well made (in USA btw) and sturdy. I've got the basic model and love it. No more sandbags for me. Good luck.
