RE: Benelli Nova or Remington 870 Super Magnum?
I have been using an 870 Express and my olderst son has for years and they are great all around gun for upland, waterfowl and turkey. My second boy was comming around for tall shot gun a couple of years ago and I came accross a sale at our local gun broker for a Nova. He had several in full advantage pattern and the deal was great @ 325$. Shoots 2.75, 3 and 3.5. He has become so effective with this gun it has impressed us all. Not a pheasant or duck get away when he is on it and I find itshoots as well if not better than the Remington. The only thing I don't like is the loose pump slide - it rattles quite a bit when turkey hunting and it takes some special handling to keep it quite. I have had the slide assembly apart and it appears to just be how it made to allow for fast chamber action - maybe you give up some true fit for speed.

I've owned a few 870 Express shotguns as well as 1 Benelli Nova. My advice is to get which ever gun fits the best in your hands. I personally see no need to buy a 3.5" shotgun, thats just extra money you could spend on shells.
