Thinking of buying this gun:
Ruger M77 Mark II Standard in 350 Rem Mag.
I have never owned a Ruger and was wondering about their accuracy and if anyone has this in a 350 what are the best loads to start toying with?
Looking to use this gun as a heavy brush gun in under 100 yds shots.
Was originally looking at the 35 whelen but this came up cheaper and easier to get.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

ive never seen the 350 in a ruger. is it new cause I cant find anything about a ruger chambered in 350
Never mind I found it is new I like my rugers they all shoot good and are nice rifles. I also am a fan of the 350 so it should be a good combo. why limit it to only 100 yard gun you could shoot that bad boy easy out to 250+ I might find myself looking into one of these

I have owned a couple Rugers and always liked them except for the triggers. I presently own a .350 ( Model7CustomKS) and you really have to see what it does to game to understand its capabilities. As for it being a 100 yd rifle only, give your head a shake. It will knock down anything you can afford to hunt out to 300 yds no problem. I find the .350 just crushes deer and black bear like nothing else and I've seen a couple moose and caribou nose plant to single shots at @300 yds. I shoot everything with 225 Partitions with mine.

Hi Mr.D
I think all the ruger 350s were actually made in2002/2003, at the same time Rem introduced the 673 in that caliber, you can verify that with the serial number. I guess they were sitting in a box in the back of the factory all that time.
I purchased onelast year ($525, NIB) and love it, although mine is the all weather model.
I found four boxes of the 200gr X bullets and LOVE them, although I don't think any more are available. I am thinking of moving up to the 225 TBBC rather than the 200 TSX. It is a 300+ yard cartridge.
You might want to peruse:
http://35cal.com/
That site is dedicated to the whelen and .350. It also has links to identify the date of manufacture by serial number.
Good luck,
CE

I also have the 350 Rem Mag for my T/C.. I enjoy shooting the 350. It’ definitely not a long distance cartridge but will definitely shoot game farther then 100 yards and take them down. I wouldn’t mind getting a bolt action in this caliber, if only I had the room...

Cool! Nice piece! You won't regret it! I remember Ruger had a special run of this caliber many moons ago, and I almost bought one. But when I "fondled" it off of the shelf, it was too long for what I wanted for a short tree stand piece for bear hunting!

Ruger's web site has it listed under new products.
Then click on new rifles. It comes in wood and stainless all-weather.
By the way, I never said that this caliber couldnt be used over 100 yds. its just that that is where I intend to use it. From what I read, it has a pointblank range of 260 yds. The main reason for its use will be whitetail and black bear during concurrent seasons primarily in heavy cover.

Is the all weather model you have in stainless? Describe the stock. Does it have a cheekpiece?
