need some feedback on rem safrie grade ammo thinking of useing it this year.they have a frame swift bullets and does any body now how they perform.iam shooting a 7mm rem mag and looking at the 158 gr.thanks any help app.

What are you going to use it on?

The first time I heard of Swift A-frame bullets was when one of my customers went to Africa a few years back . . . they were heading out for Cape Buffalo and the guide wanted to know what mike had brought for bullets. Solids, of course, in the .416 Rem Mag. The guide was pleased. He said only solids or Swift A-Frames were allowed for Buff in his camp. I thought this was a pretty telling endorsement. He didn't even mention Nosler Partitions or Barnes X bullets . . . .

I have seen these bullets used in standard North American calibers on elk. They have tremendous penetration and bone-breaking ability. I have heard of them passing through two elk broadside. And in another instance, going through one end-for-end. But have also heard of them not killing very quickly on broadside lung shots. I guess there is no free lunch.

So, in your case, I would say they are a waste of money for deer hunting - but might be worth it for some of the larger African plains game - or for elk/moose if you like the shoulder shot. Or for big bears if that's the biggest gun you have.

I used 140 grain safrie
in my 270 Browning A-bolt last year & droped a 5x5 elk in its tracks in Montana with one shot at @30 yards.
