I've also passed on nice bucks. 2 that would go in the 120s and one in the 135 -140 range. That had nothing to do with the contest. Most are fairly young and if they make it another year or two...will turn out to be monsters. The season is still early and there are bigger bucks or really should say older bucks in my hunting area.
There is 4 pt that will not score the greatest but I am really thinking about trying for him. Got him patterned, he is 5.5 years old, been watching him for three years now, have sheds to him and he is wide. He lacks tine height and mass but should gross around 140. He is respectable but not the biggest by far in my area.
I was planning this year on only taking a buck bigger then my best bow buck but it would be tough to pass him up. Watched him last night while doing a little scouting ( got off work with only half hour of light left ). Saw him tonight up close and personal but was working. Contest or no contest... the urge to hunt him is getting real strong!!

At present, I think the team that enters their second buck will have a commanding lead.....I firmly believe a team with 3 maybe 4 entries will win this thing.

I agree, I know its early but a 4 buck entry would probably win this thing. I don't see many teams hitting a 50% success rate. I wonder if any teams will be shut out?

With Mathewsboy's entry to Team 8, with their first buck being the biggest thus far, they've taken the commanding lead I refered to in my above post.....it'll get interesting from here.......where's team icky picky?[8D]

Team 4 is not afraid. We'll be posting 10 deer in this contest so if your predictions are correct, we should at least command a double score lead on the next closest team.

Looks like the rut has already started up for Team 4. Heck it's been in full force since the start of this contest. Now their bucks on the other hand... [8D]
Wonder how many on icky-pew found out their lucky hunting hats from last year are too small when season started this year?? Thank God for adjustable hats!! They must have fore seen team 4's rutting dilema to come up with that idea way back when!! LOL
Seriously, I've got more faith in the teams. Should be a couple teams with 6 bucks when it is all over. Heck we only need 5 more for Team 5. No problem!!
