Congrats to Bob and Hatchet on the taking of deer with a bow. Congrats to Kard for getting some meat for the freezer the expensive way. Sorry to hear it messed up your truck some. Always better to hit the deer then take the ditch.

Jen thanks for the info on the dryer sheets. My wife will be happier if I don't use them. Always good to keep her happy. What a rush that is to have a deer that close. The doe I got last weekend came in with 2 fawns (I think they were with the other doe in the group) and they were right under my stand. Boy does that get the heart pumping. I have to think you will get more chances this season. Just keep at it. Who knows you could even get some meat like KK did.[:@]

Well I sat in what seemed like a WI hurricane Friday night. Went out Saturday morning and saw nothing but at least it was 28 degrees. You could hear the skeeters poping.:D Looks like I won't have to deal with them much anymore. I had to come back for homecoming pictures of my kids Saturday night. I will be posting some of them on the website this week if the girls parents say it is ok. I will be heading out again this weekend. I am trying to work it out to get the last week of October off plus a good part of the first 2 weeks of November. We have a 4 day gun season here from Oct. 28-31.[:'(] It really messes up the rut to have all that lead flying around. I may hunt with the gun some but mostly just bow. Only problem is I have to wear orange during the gun season.

No luck for me this weekend. The weather was horrible. High 80's. Very humid. I hope to go one day this week after work and then hit it again this weekend.

I rarely start seeing bucks before Thanksgiving in MS. It is just too warm. But watch out in Late December and January!!!!

Good news! I got the pictures back today. I will take them to the office and scan them onto a disk and then post them hopefully by tomorrow evening. He is nothing huge, but he will get us on the board at least.

Gona need you guys to fill your tags....I'm pulling for you. As for me, I need to start scouting for my son's junior rifle deer hunt in 3 weeks.

That's great PLB. I can't wait to see the pics. He doesn't have to be huge. You decided to take him and did. That is what counts. Like many here say any deer with a bow is a trophy. Be sure to post the picture on the offical post with the score. You may want to do the math for Rob.;)

Oh and DC sorry to hear about the heat. We had upper 70's to start the season here. Now we are getting hard frosts and you can hear the skeeters dying.

bob - I have not seen 20 doe in one night but between my son and I we did. Sounds like you too may need to do some herd thinning.

Hunt on Monday, not so good. Seen 2 doe in the woods. I had to leave woods by 5pm. All the deer were in the fields, musta seen 30 deer on the ride home all in the fields:( Oh well! Going to the Big Wood of Pa this weekend for 4 days to my camp in Pike co. Will be Duckhunting on Sat, deerhunting Monday and Tuesday. Sorry the Woodducks are calling and saturday is opening day for Ducks. The deer can wait til Monday and It looks like it will be cold weather :D Things look good for the Hunt.

Well, I slipped off this morning for a few hours, but without any luck. I had a coyote come through right at daylight and then had some domestic dogs running through the woods causing a big mess. 3 hunts this year, 0 deer [:@]

Here he is, 58 5/6 x .86 (Mulie rule) = 50.53 points. I am about 48 points shy of our team goal so some of you guys (or gal) are going to have to pick up my slack.

Our team goal is for everyone to get a deer that they are proud of and it looks to me like you have done just that. Bucks are hard to come by. You have taken a very respectable animal and there is no "slack" for any of us to "pick up". Congrats again and good luck with the rest of this falls hunting adventures.
