One more stand to set up this afternoon. This guys been telling me about a huge 10 point raiding his garden every nite just after dark. This will be my first trip out to his place & I'm gonna try & see where he comes from & ambush his butt on route to dinner. Might use a blind, depends how it looks. 3 more days till opener & I'm dieing here from anticipation.
Saw a couple bruisers last week on a job. Theres a creek running thru the property about 20- yards into the woods in a little valley between the houses. The valley opens into a swamp 100 yards or so downstreem & I kept looking down there thinking that it must be full of deer. Well after lunch my boss stopped by & we went to look for sign & spotted a run right away. I was squatting down looking for tracks & saw something out of the corner of my eye. When I looked up theres this huge drop tine was coming up the trail & we suprised him pretty good. He took one look & left across the valley. By the time I could tell the boss he was 50 yards away but Carl says "Yeah, look at him, nice deer" knew he wasnt talking about mine as you could just about see him at this point so I looked where he was looking & theres this nice 10 point followng behind the drop tine!
He just glanced at us & went his merry way following his companion across the brook.

From what I gather this property isnt hunted but the new owner would not have a problem letting someone on to hunt. Only trouble it he's away till the end of the month & I'v never met him. He may here from me in early October tho.

Good luck everyone, lets win this thing!

You boys may want to check out the bucks that SWIowa and I are after. They are posted on team 23's thread pages 7 & 8. It's just to bad I will be shooting a bigger one than what's in those pictures.

Uh huh. Somehow I just don't believe that.

Haven't seen a deer since the season started. That's the way it goes tho.
Hopefully all that will change this week.

Got another real nice 10 point on game cam the other night. That makes 3 nice bucks within 40 yards of the stands.

Two of them are nicer than the 143 class deer I shot last year. Bored out of my mind waiting for Oct 1 to get here.

Both of these deer are right next to our stands. Two different timbers about one mile from each other. There is another big non typical running with this one that we have a half a picture of his right antler. it has 6 points on it and is 2 or 3 inches past his ears. We can not see a brow tine in our picture so he could be a 7 point on his right horn at least.
