Thats a real nice 6pt, his main beams are very long especially that right side. I think the other teams are starting to sweat now, we have definitly set the bar high. Great job guys!!!!!!

That is a dandy 6 pt RTA47 and that gives you guys 428 and some change. You definately have set the bar for the rest of the teams...[&:] But don't count anyone out, a couple teams with a couple dandy bucks could pull ahead so the rest of you six need to hunt hard.
Good luck guys and your off to a substantial start.

Nice buck RTA47! Way to go team. I'm giving it my best to contribute - I know they're there, just have to wait them out. Plenty of season left though, and we are coming into peak rut here in MI. (BTW, anyone know when this contest ends?)

Thanks to everyone! And good luck to the rest of the team that has yet to score! Just be patient
Like badshot sead! There is a lot of season left to go! Hang in there. "And no bob i don`t` know when this thing is over" I would think someone would know when the end of the season is for all the states?[&:]

Well guys, today was great hunting weather but the deer didn't coperate. Looks like they are going to develope the land next to my honey hole and someone was hunting down in the bottom. It caused the deer to be skiddish as they came up the hill and I saw no monsters. I did see a ton of deer and have my spot pick out on thursday. Same place I should have been last year when after 2 dozen does came up at 7:30 am 2 monsters came up at 8 am.
Tonight's hunt, I saw quite a few and the biggest one of the day. He was a nice 9 point. He was about 20" with good mass on his main beams. His tines were short. They were only about 6" on avg. He looked like a young deer. He has good potential if I don't shoot him next month. The funny thing was he tending a doe and stayed below me for 15 mins. Then another buck deep in the woods was chasing another doe and grunting loud. That flipped the switch on that 9 point and he lowered his rack to push off the doe. Then trotted off after them. It was funny how it flipped the switch.
I'm not planning on up dating this every night. I expect the same every hunt. I will post at the end of the week unless I drop a nice one. Bad news is I might have missed the rut by 1 week. Next week should be fun. It could be a disaster if I try to hunt next week. I might loose my job and my wife might move out and divorce me. I might be wrong on the last statement. I was told it's not the wife who has to move. On the other hand, I guess I would have plenty of time to hunt.
Good luck everyone.

Sorry guys, nothing worth shooting this early in the season. That nine point was the biggest of them all but any of the eight points were nice bucks. I just amazed none of the monsters that I know are running around wanted to get shot. Go figure, I guess that's why they call it hunting. None of my friends saw anything huge.
Tonight I went to an old honey hole that holds big ones. The home owner said she hasn't seen anything big in her yard but has seen some running the neighborhood. I picked a new tree based on last years movement (another hunter was hunting across the open field) Bad news is no big bucks let alone huge, the good news is I have the right tree there. I had 18 does 2 spikes and one weird 4 pointer (spike & 3 points). All came directly underneath me on there way to grazing. I was sure something big had to show but it was no go.
Unfortunately, finacial responsibility has come into play and I have to cut my trip short. I hope to make one more trip up here when the rut is on. I'll give it one more time and then give you guys a choice. I can get two bucks. Next month I don't care if I shoot one of the 8's or there is even a chance for a nice 10. On the other hand I could hold out for huge and shoot something later in the month or into January. I just can't be sure when or if I will get back up north.
