Default Polymer vs Aluminum Alloy

I'm about to buy my first crossbow and I'm stuck on what has probably already been a hot topic of discussion. Which would you choose and why.....polymer vs aluminum alloy for the made guide rails? I'm looking at either an Excal Phoenix or Axiom and can't decide. From what I can tell they are basically the same unit just a different material up front.

Thanks for the help.
