Default Bolt advice for a novice

So i tried to sight in my crossbow yesterday and, well it didn't go like I wanted. To make a long story short, to arrows that came with the crossbow are crap. I lost two broadheads inside my foam cube and shattered another one. So needless to say I was pissed. Any advice on a quality arrow and broadhead combination that works well with a Horton Legacy crossbow for practice and hunting?

First off my friend why are you sighting your bow in with broadheads. Take little steps and use field points. You have gotta walk before you run.

You will get some great suggestions on arrow/broadhead combo's here for your bow but make sure you are using the appropriate arrows before you shoot anymore. I'm guessing you will be driving tacks before you know it.

we are gather here together for this grand occassion of CB 101 ! get one said target of yer choice make it a rag bag . next a solid rest but nutten anywhere close to those limbs[:-]. another tidbit keep all fingers toes or whatever you hold CB with below the rail. if you ever get zapped you will forever remember it! once you cock that CB put safety on! and then put an arrow in slot and back into the trigger claws. no dry fires allowed, they be ruff on limbs. set target at 10 yds and aim fer the center with field pts on arrows. then adjust sights once you hit 2"/3" high over your target dot move it to 20 yds. it should very close. practice out to 40 yds get good feel fer your CB. then put BH's on and ck it at 10 yds don't use bag target it will ruined one quick fast & in a hurry don;t cha knowed![8D]

When you bought your xbow, did you get any arrows with the package? What manufacture and type of xbow did your get? What type of broadheads did you buy?

But I must say that what the Smoke man says is pretty much in stone.

Someone posted this site on another forum: http://www.crossbowed.org/

This is a good video for newbies. Enjoy and pay close attention.

Geez Smoke. You didn't leave anything out.. A bit off topic but I love watching the guys at the rod and gun club sighting in their rifles offhand and adjusting their scope after every shot. Then they get a flyerthat hits dead center and they are all set foe the season.
