cheap dog food like "Old Roy" from Mal-Wart along w/ sardines in mustard works well for me. I get the sardines at Dollar General. Arkansas F & G uses them alone in their bear traps for nuisance ones they want to transplant. I also save bacon/cooking oil all year to pour around the barrels on the ground so the ones that do come in leave a scent trail back to the baits.

they love sweets! honey, molasses, all kinds of pasteries. i caught one in a trap when i was 8 years old and brought him to the house in an old model A truck. tied his feet together with my tennis shoe laces. long story so won't bore y'all. turned out to be one heck of a pet til he was stole
