Default Want to buy Crossbow for boyfriend...help me?

My boyfriend mentioned that he would LOVE to have a crossbow. I am sure he figures that I will not buy him something like that, also he thinks it would be too expensive. Of course, I think it would make a great surprise for Christmas, but I need advice.

Can I get some feedback on quality crossbows in the $350-$600 range? I know this is not top of the line money, but I am sure I could find one that he would enjoy in that range.

I have been looking at the Excalibur Pheonix or Equinox. Are these good names? I do not want to buy a piece of junk. Please advise!

Thank you in advance!

Excalibur is a very good name. I think thatit's one of the best crossbows you can buy. (besidesTEN point) IMO

You definately can't go wrong with ANY bow in the Excalibur line. Your definately on the right track. How big is your boyfriend because the pheonix is more of a smaller framed bow, but either you mentioned would work perfectly fine for him. Just make sure you grab him a cocking aid as well, he'll thank you twice as much for that later.

Try horton , they are also well made and you could probably get top of the line Horton with that range.Excaliber I hear a lot of good about also , but I no longer use crossbows so I may not know. When I did I used Horton but been a few years.

an Excalibur Equinox would be more than perfect! It is powerful, quiet, accurate and a very nice looking bow. Can't go wrong with Excalibur

I'll be your boyfriend for almost nothing for Christmas. And you won't have to worry about me going hunting with an old crossbow all the time either. I'd be there with you holding you and worshiping the ground you walk on and saying sweet nothings to you.
Wait a minute! What am I saying. I got a wife. One that bought me a new crossbow for Christmas a very long time ago. WOW. And look what it got her! LOL

Sounds like you married well, BuddyBo. My wife is the same way, she never asks what I want, just what caliber.
