Cheap is not necessarily a bargain. I know that painfully well.

smokepolehall speaks truth about the Vixen. I have one and I think it is one of the best purchases I ever made. Hitting nickels is easy. I finally stenciled acorns on my target. Those squares are just too big.

I would love to buy him a decent crossbow. But I just can't go over 200 dollars. I figured it was a stetch trying to get something decent for $150. I should have picked up two hortons at a estate sale last year. They wanted 100 dollars each, but I already picked up 2000 dollars of rifles.

I know there are deals out there but I just got to find them. There is a Yukon SL on craigslist, and he said I could go there and shoot it myself for 200.

Arthur, I have a real interest in building the medievil crossbow you shoot, but don't think my old father in law would. I would gladly pay ya 100 for your crossbow. But really want to build one myself.

Yup if they leave the broken string on it! Now i will give some of the best free advice you will ever get. There are several places to buy an Excal Vixen fer about $330 shipped!Thats the best investment you will ever make. It will shoot today and the same 20 years from now. Hit nickels off the bench at 20 yds.[8D]
Never heard of that brand. But don't know much about crossbows. I will look into it.

I would ask your father in law if he would like a Xbow and then offer to pay half, this way you know if he wants a Xbow and you can get a better one with him paying half. Do the research, I did and ended up with a Excal Vixen, great bow.Good Luck Joe

Thats a great idea Joey had. Get a few bucks from your father in law. It will at least demonstrate that he wants to be out there and you will still be giving a great gift!!!
