Hey Folks,
The Wisconsin Crossbow Federation is also a great and informative site.

They have worked long and hard to get legislation passed and still need your support. There are several "Crossbow Jamboree's" as well as Crossbow Instructional Seminars all throughout Wisconsin.
This group is great!!!

Stumbled across this guide to buying a first crossbow.
Great read and starting point for a beginner.

I like what Vermont has done with the 50yo or older you can hunt with a crossbow, younger then that you need the doctors note thing. I wish theyd take it a step further and allow kids 15yo and younger to also be able to use them with adult supervision.

One day someone will sue them for age discrimination and they will lose. My state used to have it that only someone with a Dr's certification that they could not draw a bow could use a cross bow. That was a joke, most Drs would certify the applicants no matter if they were informed or not. It was bad, the whole intent of allowing the cross bow was for handicapped people and anyone who was willing to lie and had a Dr who had no objection to lying to make his patient happy was hunting with a crossbow in archery season. Finally the PGC decided to legalize crossbows for everyone and even the honest folks can hunt with a crossbow. I doubt the age thing will hold up if challenged. They cannot claim that only allowing older hunters to use a crossbow is a management tool.
