That's what I went with too...I even bought a half dozen of them.Way too many excellent reviewstoo be wrong.The ones I read the reviews where from professional hunters (like on TV) and hunting guides. Good choice. When I read they where shootong them through 1 inch pine boards and 55 gal steel drums with NO damage. What more can you say. It as simple as that. They are oviously top of the line for mechs. Everyone else has the same opinion on dozens and dozens of review and tests. It can't go wrong. A lot of people will have a different opinion. But they prolly already spent a50 - 60 dollarson some other brand.

boy, bear in my yard last night and now 15 minutes ago i let my hunting lab out for pee,next thing ,he is bouncing off the rear end bears back 20 yards from me.. my heart was really racing on that one..tore my garbage can apart, bird feeder.... grumpy tom, i was surprised that they showed that arrow falling out and even more surprised that they found buck dead 4 hrs later in dark....
they did not show much of wound but it looked like it was on shoulder near front edge, i think it may have knicked a vein near neck...

i saw 5 bucks tonight running together and all looked like they were 6 point and up and 2 with 20 inch spreads.....

i have not seen that in a longtime..

i am seeing very few doe,for 2 weeks scoutingi saw around 13 doe in 30 mile area......6 fawns i that total......

the only thing stopping me fromusing mech broadheads in my crossbow is that I plan on doing alot of blind hunting this year and I've heard the mechanicals snag up on the mesh and/or just dont pass through it as efficentlyas the fixed blades, if it wasnt for that I'd probably already have spitfires on my arrows

I'm very uneducated on some of this! I didn't know you shot an arrow through the mesh. Learn something new on here every few minutes!!! cool

I had heard that same thing, which is why I did my own testing of shooting through screen with the spitfire. I did not have any problem with arcuarcy out to 30 yards shooting through the screen (did not test further distance). The blades also did not open early, did the sheet of paper test on front of target (shows closed head on entry).

sproulman, you can get bad heads in either fixed or mechanical. I could post many different things on happenings with bad heads (blades falling off in flight, breaking on paper target ect.). All I have ever said is to choose a quality head (fixed or mech), one that your confidant with, then enjoy your shooting.

I plan on using the Tekan II in my quiver again this year. I like the way they fly and they satisfy my mechanical itch thats been on me for a long time. They pass the double paper test with no problem. One sheet a couple inches back to make sure they are not open in flight, and another right on the target to see that they are fully open as they go in! I love these heads so far. Stainless steel head for a cut on contact tip and nice two blade design that slides back as they go in so they are fully open outside and not opening inside. I used Muzzys for a long time and never had a problem with them though. Also, had a picky year last year so I was unable to draw blood with the Tekans.

I found an Ebay store that has very good prices on replacement and practice blades for Spitfires, Muzzy and some others.
They also have super low shipping. They ship USPS. I paid a $1.50 shipping for my Spitfire pr. blades.(the total was only $8.99!!!)I think the muzzy ones have free shipping. Here is the link:
