Rage mechanicals seem to be the 'Rage' right now. They don't need as much energy to open since they open from the rear. They have a 2" cutting area as well. Chuck Adams uses them. If you want a fixed blade BH that flies like a field tip then I would say Slick Tricks. I use Wasp Boss 100 gr fixed blade BH but if you want field tip flight then the first two I mentioned is what I would 100% recommend.

You may want to read some of the reviews online about the new Rage broadheads before you invest in them.... what I've read I wasn't too impressed with. I think it was on Amazon.com. Or one of the other shopping sites with product reviews.

yeah I saw some problems with them opening up in the quiver and in flight but some guys had no problems and love them.

They also are supposed to not require rubber bands / o rings. I'm going to try to get a different target. I'll let you know how they shoot when I get the chance. Oh, and they also make plastic practice blades for them. The pr. blades cost a little under 10 bucks. But I haven't seen them in the store yet. I may check Gander Mountain so I don't have to pay 8 bucks shipping. The website I found them on will only FedEx. chris terrible prices, i think i paid 3.95 for them, now ,7.95.. then throw in 7 dollars to ship it, terrible.. i use them and not hunting blades at all for practice... use my feed bag with old pants etc with wal-mart plastic bags in front,they only go in about 1 inch or so and easy to pull out..... |

Yea, that's what I read some people wrote in their reviews. But they may be okay. I don't really know. All the reviews about the spitfires I could find where good, so I bought some of those. This is my first year for CB hunting so I'mjust learning. This is good site for info. There's a lot of kowledgable people on here.

i've had good luck with wasp jackhammers. however i mostly shoot slick tricks. i much prefer fixed blade bheads....less to go wrong. btw you can get o rings at the hardware store or most auto parts stores for cheap.:)

Here is one of the reviews for the SAP Spitfires. I think this is the one I read that helped me decide to go ahead with the mechanicals.
shewe has a good point about less to go wrong with fixed blade BH's. But check out this review if you are considering mechs.
