Very cool Jason! I'll be you a nickle (Cdn) that they bed down on that hump in front of the camera.
Thanks Don! I think the hump spot you bet on is a "sunny day" bedding spot. A few times it has been mashed down and nice and smooth but when all the snow was on the ground there was no apparent bed on it, only a trail crossing it. But last fall when it was still somewhat nice out and no snow it did have that nice oval bed shape to it. The dilemma I am currently in is trying to figure out where to put up my stands this spring. Where the deer are heading there is a real nice tree about a 100 yards from the camera that the deer in the pic are heading to. The only problem is I am a little leery of setting up a stand within ten feet of a main trail. Up front by these beds you are looking at the biggest trees there are in that area. The biggest one, in the left of the pic is at a major intersection and only about thirty yards from the main beds. I think if I set up in that tree I will only screw up the deer and ruin the spot!

Set up your stand the furthest you can consistantly kill them coming and going. I know it sounds simple but you have to set yourself up as far away from them as possible. Set two up one for the prevailing wind and the other in a place that watches the same route for alternate winds. After the vegetation has grown in this summer cut your shooting lanes. Block some paths to make them more likey to take your path. Watch them in late summer with a spotting scope from a long way away. Get to know them without them knowing you. I hope there is a big buck that is worth the time and energy!

Went out and pulled the card today and filled the feeder also. They are hitting it hard right now. Also spent about two hours looking around for sheds and more bedding areas. Think I found a buck area in the back where most of the scraps where last year. At least I found lots of buck poop by these beds that I found. Here are some of the pics from my card, enjoy!

I put out 2 trail cams a couple of weeks ago and got back a pic of a buck still wearing antlers. I thought they should have dropped by now. Cam date was 3/4/2007 and I know it's right because the background matched the cams location and it's a new spot.
