Well this is another fine mess you got us into! LOL! Thats too funny! On the other hand I am happy you and your Dad are ok. Can't you use a rope cocker?
Like I say, most of the time I shoot into the ground and no problem, but most of the time I have deer by mid November and am done before the ground freezes so no problem. But the hard ground is hell on a arrow! I don't think it would have mattered what I would have used, leaving the arrow in only meant one thing, the CB was going to come up once the arrow met the ground! Lesson learned!:D I hope!

A suggestion to those who do not do much bench shooting.
One of the best positions to shoot from a bench is with the fingers of the hand not the trigger hand but the other on the bench under the buutt moving it into position on the target and steading it there.Lee

Thanks for the link Reb, that write up left me feeling a bit skeptical, to say the least, 4 inch groups at 100 yards with bent arrows?

Crossbow Test

LOL' that's called an "info bash", destined for a Bowsite forum, no doubt. The anti's constantly strive to prove an advantage of a xbow over a vert.
They don't want to discuss minor details like those arrows in the 100 yd "test" have to rise about 25 FEET over the line of sight. You won't find many info-bash "tests" w/ b-heads either. You probably won't see any references to Howard Hill [vert legend] taking an elk at 187 yds w/ a long bow either. I doubt that you will see any of Jim C experiments that prove time after time that compounds out shoot xbows. He has actually taken the time and trouble to mount those little red laser pointers to both, to prove one cannot even hold the xbow on target as long as a compound can. You will read things like NY is a leader in the nation to help handi-capped bow hunters and that xbows are legal for handicapped in NY, you just have to not be able to finger a trigger and must use a blow-tube to fire it, probably out of your camo'ed iron lung. Welcome to the world of crossbow promotion, only due to greedy mfgrs, lol.
