well,i had bear hunter bow when i was 12..i sat in apple tree, 7 ft above ground.bow was 45 #.my arrows were wood with 5 inch feathers,bear points,still have them too..
i missed that 10 point buck at 10 yds..he ducked the arrow,went right over back..after he left, a 300 pd bear came out in field, guess what tree he decided to go up..
mine..
when he got up to my limb , i jumped to ground..down he came almost on top of me..i dont know who was more scared, me or him..
my school buddy saw bear run by him,he said he was really moving..its wonder i am alive with allthings that happened..read my post what happened to me today over on the predator topic..

sorry, it was not with crossbow,to be truthful, i have never shot buck with crossbow, still using recurve, bear kodiack,wooden arrows with zewicky heads but i do like you folks, i like shooting in crossbows, done about 7 ,so far and getting many calls to sight in..
there will be day i will be using one,i just got horton for 200 dollars that guy only used 1 year..it was horton ultra sl ..
im ready now to practice!!

Thats one quick deer! Thats hearing, processing and jumping all in lees then a tenthof a second after you take of the .027 or so for the speed of sound! Them some fastdeer sproul!

in 50 years of bowhunting ,i dont think any of my bucks were killed over 20 yds..i just dont take long shot,30 would be my max..most were 10 yds..i saw deer jump a string at 10 yds too, i know, it happened to me a few times..

i have a horton blackhawk with a 200lb draw an im comfortable shooting out to 50yds. my multi range scope it dead nuts accurate out that far but only have taken the shot 3 times in 3 yrs. idont have a problem with it and i have gotten a complete pass through every time.

he shoots about 2 inch or so group ,with hunting points thats something..
i know that point he uses is one i see a lot at our club,guys like they way they fly in their compound bows, hit almost where the field points do..

if i can offer my best thing to make arrow fly good is get your inserts SQUARED..i just had mine done and every point i put on had NO WOBBLE..
your archery shop can do that for a few dollarsand its BEST advice i could offer..
