Most often down hill also, and with gut shots very often near (or even in) water.

Thanks for being honst and this is a good reminder to all of us. When my bud and I were on that hog hunt in La awhile back, he had a nice shot on maybe a 200 lb hog. Missed it clean at 20-25 yds. There was one little stinkin vine kinda in the shot, but couldn't see it thru scope. We actually found where b-head had cut it and that thing wasn't much bigger than a pencil lead.

Good luck on finding your deer, and I feel confidant saying it's not just your worse nightmare, but all of ours.
