RE: I need some advice

Yes Mitch, using a scope will add to your accuracy, but as I've said in the past I'm a firm believer in practicing with what you'll be hunting with, and that's not field points! I use Spitfire 100gr expandables on a Horton 2216 bolt with my Yukon SL 150 (old school) and get nice tight groups! ;)

bigboyky: The two premier scopes for xbows are the Excal V-Zone and the 10 pt w/ lit reticules in either green or red or nothing. I prefer the V-Zone, got 3, but that 10 pt has some advantages worth considering. I like the fact that I can be dead nuts from 10-50 w/ V-zone, but have had instances where the lit reticules would have been a huge help. Personal choice comes in here. I'm shooting 431 gr GT LII's w/ Slick Tricks. And, outta 3 xbows from 290 fps to 328 fps. My results w/ this setup are awesome, so if you get real frustrated, got no where else to go, try this setup. It's just a fact of life that some bows shoot better than others. I have no experiences w/ your bow to share w/ you. Good luck to ya!!

RE: I need some advice

I bought some Lazer 2s and was goofing around with them this week end. The were 20 and 22 inch long. I am surpised at how they can like broadheads. The 20 inch Lazers do not like Magnus Stingers and the 22 inch do, go figure! If you are doing everything we are suggesting, try something else. My 2117 shafts like just about anything. Come to think about it I have some 2216s I haven't tried yet.

if your field points group....then it's not the bow....fact is, broadheads magnify any flaw in a set-up.

RE: I need some advice UPDATE

Ok well.... what has happened is this. I figured out it has to be the b-heads. I now have 2 different bows doing the same exact thing. field points in tight groups and b-heads going where ever they want. So I will try different b-heads. Thanks to all that have listened and tried to help!

R the B'Head groups tight or loose? Impact point don't matter as u can always sight in. If they're tight just sight in, if they're lose then there is more work to do. Spin test and see if any have any wobble, if it does take thar B'Head off and try on every B;Head u have until it spins right. Do u use the o rings, they really help with that. If u r using fixed blades that r over 1 1/4" wide it is wind planing. Then u need to get smaller B'Heads!

RE: I need some advice UPDATE

They aren't grouping at all! If I had any kind of pattern I could just move the sights, but these things are all over the place. I did spin test them all but one looked good. No "O" rings here they are 100gr. 3 blade Muzzy. Bolts are Easton XX75 2216's. At first I thought it was just me, I marked the string to make sure I'm drawing it back correctly. I normally sight in offhand, with this problem I put it on a rest, just to prove it's not the shooter. After having a problem with the safty and taking the Horton back I ended up with a Parker. However the b-heads are still shooting the same. So I've figured that I either need smaller b-heads or heavier bolts. Which do you all think would be better?

Mitch, give the 100gr Spitfire's a try, I think they'll help big time!;) They don't use "O" rings either.:)

Go get some mechanials, make sure they don't open before hitting the target and go and wack something. When you have some time straighten out your problems. Try someone else's broadheads. Are the blades tight? Do the broadheads have excess clearance? Are they the same shafts you used with the target tips?

Tobe honest its your broad head go to mechanicals they will fly just likw a field point i dont care what anybody says. ive killed alot of deer with mechs and with fixed blades they can make your arrow travel else where.
